A memorial to the women of Britain during World War II

A memorial to the women of Britain during World War II
This photo is of a memorial to the Women of Britain in World War II. During the second world war, there was an acute shortage of people for the military, so women also pitched in to a large extent. In addition to the traditional roles of nursing and other support services, women actually formed part of the units that acted in the defense of Britain, including manning of anti-aircraft guns.
