Photo showing the restoration work on a corner of the Hypostyle Hall in Luxor
The Great Hypostyle Hall in the precinct of Amon-Re is one of the most spectacular sights inside the Karnak temple. It has a total of 134 columns / pillars which supported a huge roof (which no longer exists). The total area of this hall is 50,000 square feet.
Considering the historical value of this hall, there has been a lot of work done in the past to restore the hall to its glory. This is a photo showing the huge amount of work happening for some restoration.
