The twin statues of the Colossi of Memnon are on the tourist circuit for all those who visit Luxor. These are huge statues, towering over human beings who seem puny in comparison. In their time, these statues must have been incredible, since they were the gate keepers for a huge complex, the temple of the pharaoh Amenhotep III (however, there is no trace remaining of the temple).
