View of the statue of the Colossi of Memnon, just outside Luxor, in Egypt
A view of the large statue, part of the 2 statues called as the Colossi of Memnon. These were statues built approximately in the year 1350 BC, modeled on the pharaoh Amenhotep III. The interesting item about these statues was caused by a quake in the year 27 BC. Because of the cracks caused by the quake, the eastern statue was supposed to sing, with a sound coming around dawn. However this sound died down as some additions were done to the upper levels of the statue.
