The marching contingents at the changing of the guard ceremony in front of Buckingham Palace, and in front of the Victoria Memorial.

The changing of the Queen's Guard is a very important event for the tourist point of view. It starts on alternate days at 11:30 AM in front of Buckingham Palace, and is a full spectacle. There are so many tourists that there are policemen required to make sure that the route is clear.

This is a photo of Wellington Arch against the sun. Even after exposure has been reduced, the sun remains very bright (although the light is a bit diffused). I like such photos because they tend to look a bit abstract, and you really cannot make out the sharper lines of the monument in such a photo.

We were roaming around London on a hop on - hop off bus, and then there was this big traffic hold-up around this traffic island. Eventually the bus finally got a chance to move around, but in the meantime, I managed to take photos of this beautiful monument called Wellington Arch. It's right in the center of this green traffic island, and looks fairly beautiful. The sky is a perfect color of blue as well.

I was near Big Ben at night, trying to get a good view of the fully lighted up Big Ben tower. And then I turned around, looked across the Thames and there was this beautifully lighted London eye. Moved a bit closer to the London Eye, and hence this photo is taken from almost directly opposite the wheel, across the Thames.

At night, London Eye is lit up all over with blue lights, and this includes even the trees on the compound. It is very beautiful whether you take a close look at it, or even if you are looking at it from a distance, since it is even visible from across the river.

Here's another type of photo that I like. You get a mix of light and shadow into a photo, and there are even chances that I will like such a photo. So, in this photo, you can see the great big wheel of London Eye from a distance, and when sunset is looming, and it looks real beautiful.

I really like photos like these. The sunset is a pretty amazing combination of light and darkness (not many colors though !). The fading sun's rays are shining from between the cloud cover, and the peaks of Westminster seem to be thrusting directly into this zone. Unfortunately, such types of photos also seem to produce an imperfection, since you can see a small blue mark, barrel distortion.
