Foggy winter morning - Prints on Saatchiart

Foggy winter morning - Prints on Saatchiart
Foggy winter morning - Prints on Saatchiart
A foggy winter morning, with mist obscuring the details in the distance. This is at a heritage site (most likely Machu Picchu), where a group of visitors are climbing up an ancient stone paved path, the years having caused damage to the path with the setting between the stones having become uneven, and in some cases, the stones themselves have come off and are no longer to be seen. This is high on the hillside, and cold and damp are a constant presence, leading to a large amount of moss everywhere. This site witnesses a huge number of visitors every year, and is very popular on the tourist circuit.

Cairo Pyramid - Close up of people climbing out of the burial chamber of the structure next to the Great Pyramid of Cheops
A close up of people climbing the steep ladder leading out of the burial chamber of the small structure right next to the Great Pyramid. The path is steep, but there is a wooden scaffolding to ensure a better grip.

Cairo Pyramids - View of the steep ladder leading down into the burial chamber of the structure next to the Great Pyramid

Cairo Pyramids - View of the steep ladder leading down into the burial chamber of the structure next to the Great Pyramid
This is a view of the hole in the earth that leads to the burial chamber underground (with a wooden ladder providing a steep path underground). However, there are a number of people who explore this structure, since the structure is free (as opposed to the burial chamber in the Great Pyramid which costs $10 to enter).

Cairo Pyramids - Tourist climbing out of the burial chamber of the structure next to the Great Pyramid of Cheops
Next to the Great Pyramid of Cheops at Giza, there are these much smaller structures that have burial chambers meant for relatives of the Pharaoh; much easier to climb into and get out of these. In this photo, you can see a female tourist climbing out of the steep ladder leading into one of these.

Great Pyramid - The No Climbing sign on the Great Pyarmid, prevent people from climbing up

Great Pyramid - The No Climbing sign on the Great Pyarmid, prevent people from climbing up
One would think that stepped stone structure of the pyramids makes it easy for people to climb the structure, but in the past, people have suffered injuries and fatalities by falling off the Pyramid, and so climbing on the Pyramid is now prohibited.
