A couple of large statues against a wall inside the Karnak temple in Luxor

A couple of large statues against a wall inside the Karnak temple in Luxor
Temples inside ancient Egypt were built by pharaohs towards the gods, and also as a projection of their own divinity, with the temples showing statues of the pharaoh being close to the gods; the temples also showed statues of the pharaoh with arms crossed (which was a practice for mummies of pharaohs during the New Kingdom around 1500 BC).
You can also see the state of the temple at that time, with many walls standing, but an overall state of wear and tear.

Statue of a pharaoh, but without the head, inside the Karnak temple in Luxor

Statue of a pharaoh, but without the head, inside the Karnak temple in Luxor
If you go to any of the ancient monuments in Egypt, you will find that there are numerous traces of the pharaoh who built them. This is typically true of the temples, where there will be statues of the pharaoh making up part of the structure of the temple, as a part of the walls of the temple or free standing statues.
Inside the Karnak temple, you can find more than one, since there were numerous pharaohs who played a role. In this case, you can see a statue which no longer has a head, but the rest of the statue remains in fairly good condition.

Front view of a statue of a pharaoh in the classical pose, inside the Karnak temple in Luxor
If you are touristing in Egypt, you would see views of the pharaoh in many locations, in the classical pose where the statue shows the arms crossed (I was trying to search as to why the arms of the pharaohs are shown as crossed in their statues, but could not find a reason for the same). This is a large statue of one of the pharaohs inside the Karnak temple at Luxor.

A huge statue of a pharaoh inside the Karnak temple in Luxor

A huge statue of a pharaoh inside the Karnak temple in Luxor
This is a relatively unscathed statue inside the Karnak temple in Luxor. I don't know which pharaoh this is a statue of, but it is made in the same way as most statues of pharaohs are, with their arms crossed. The statue is slightly cordoned off, with some basic protection, so that tourists do not touch it.
