Cutting bamboo into splinters - Saatchiart

Bamboo is a product that has many uses. Given the strength of bamboo and the fast speed at which it grows, it has immense economic uses for populations that live in rural areas. People are able to fashion a vast range of products from these bamboos, by cutting them into different shapes and making items such as mats, a range of household furniture, and so on. In this image, workers are preparing bamboo strips into different shapes.

Detailed view of renovation being carried out at the statue at the Colossi of Memnon in Luxor, Egypt

In a couple of previous photos, you would have seen the state of the statues at the Colossi of Memnon, including the complete scaffolding on one of the statues. In this photo, you can see a cross-section of scaffolding, as well as one of the people working on these repairs. The size of the statues seems huge when you consider one human being standing inside the scaffolding.

Cairo Pyramid - A structure adjoining to the Great Pyramid, possibly the tomb of a nobel

In this photo, you can see a worker of the Egyptian culture ministry, standing outside the entrance of an underground structure. This could be possibly the tomb of one of the nobles of the pharaoh, with tourists in the whole area.
