My favourite photos along with some background. These photos are mostly of some sceneries, sky and light shows, a lot of nature shots including mountains / wooded areas, and a general assortment of other photos. I have had a lot of fun while taking these photos and looking at them even now, gives a good feeling. Some of these photos show what can do done from normal photos, converting them into works of art, using photoshop and other tools.

I don't know the name of the building that is shown in the photo, but it was something like St. James ...; it is very close to Buckingham Palace, and what was interesting for me in this photo was the view of the top of the London Eye wheel peeking over the top.

I really like such photos, they possess a certain beauty that appeals to me. There is a bit more light than in the previous photo, although the beautiful shimmer in the water is already there. You can see the outline of the buildings on the banks, and of the wheel of London Eye.

I was near Big Ben at night, trying to get a good view of the fully lighted up Big Ben tower. And then I turned around, looked across the Thames and there was this beautifully lighted London eye. Moved a bit closer to the London Eye, and hence this photo is taken from almost directly opposite the wheel, across the Thames.

At night, London Eye is lit up all over with blue lights, and this includes even the trees on the compound. It is very beautiful whether you take a close look at it, or even if you are looking at it from a distance, since it is even visible from across the river.

Here's another type of photo that I like. You get a mix of light and shadow into a photo, and there are even chances that I will like such a photo. So, in this photo, you can see the great big wheel of London Eye from a distance, and when sunset is looming, and it looks real beautiful.

This is just a random photo. I was just emerging from London Eye when I saw this bird perched on the wall on the banks of the Thames. Even when I moved close to take a photo, it did not fly off (must be used to hordes of toursist by now). As a result, I got this great photo.

I felt real good about shooting this photo. I like the color and explosion of light that seems to happen in a sunrise and sunset, and felt that way about this situation. So, here we a sunset over the Thames with the dying sun providing a strong source of light that shimmers over the water. You can also see the giant structure of the wheel of London Eye.

This is a photo of the twinkling of the sun through a London Eye capsule. I like this image due to the fact that the sun rays, when shining through the capsule, appear to be twinkling.

A photo of the sun shining through the spokes of the London Eye wheel. Given the clarity of the air, you can see the glint of the sun shine as well as the backdrop of a vapor trail (caused by a jet) in the sky

A view of some of the Bridges on the Thames as seen from a capsule of the London Eye. You get a good view from a height of quite a large area of London.

This is a photo of the view of the Thames river from a capsule of London Eye. We have just climbed a short height and are not very far above the river. From this point, one gets a good view of the buildings from that height, and if the angle is correct, one also gets a good view of the sun reflecting from the water.

This photo is more of an engineering photo. There are 2 sets of smaller wheels that make the giant wheel of London Eye turn, and you can see the entire contraption in this photo (the red part in the photo). These are powerful wheels that make the London Eye wheel turn at the rate of 0.9 km/h, allowing the wheel to complete one full turn in around 30 minutes.

This is yet another photo that gives a perspective of the height that the London Eye reaches. The London Eye reaches a height of 145 metres; what that means is that when you are on the Eye, you will go higher than almost all the structures in the vicinity. Here a capsule is seen way high over the London Aquarium.

From this angle, it seems like the capsule is straining to reach the sky. I like such kind of photos, you can think about lofty ambitions and goals when looking at such photos. From this angle, it almost seems like the people in the other capsule are looking to reach the sky.

It would be a travesty to call the London Eye as a big Ferris wheel. But essentially, that is what it is. However, traveling in it is very enjoyable. In this picture, I am almost at the top, and you can get an idea of the height by looking at the photo of the capsule against the background of London behind the capsule.

This is a photograph of the sun being visible from within one of the capsules of London Eye. This photograph was taken in the afternoon, and was when I was almost at the top. The view from that location is great and very clear, but what impressed me a lot was the way in which the next capsule had the sun shining right through the glass.
