The sea near Sharm el Sheikh is very attractive. This was a scene where we were on a tourist ship, heading towards the coral reefs for some snorkeling. This was fairly warm water, and it was fun just standing there and watching the sea pass by while we whizzed by at some speed (not too much speed, but when you are standing on the lower deck and looking at the water going by, it can seem that the water is going by at some speed).
There was a shine on the water surface that was pretty interesting, and you can see it in this photo, a shine or glimmer on the surface of the water.

The journey from Aswan to Abu Simbel can take a fair amount of time, around 3 hours each way. Abu Simbel is a beautiful location, but it is some distance away from Aswan (taking a 3 hour journey on a highway with little traffic; or by flight - but that takes time since you need to check in to Aswan, do the procedures for security, and then disembark at the Abu Simbel airport and then make your way to the temple from the airport; or you can take a cruise from Aswan to Abu Simbel, but that can take even more time).
This was on the return journey from Abu Simbel to Aswan. Given the total journey time taken around 6 hours, and if you spend some time at the temple and have left in the morning from Aswan, then on the return journey, you will be close to sunset, and that is why we got these sights of the sunset over the horizon and the shimmer happens.

A photo of the Golden Temple at night, with a closer view of the central lighted Harmandir Sahib and the causeway over the sarovar (linking it to the outer perimeter). The lights, when combined with the golden color of the structure, look incredibly beautiful. The shimmer of the lights on the water looks incredibly beautiful.

A view of the Golden Temple in Amritsar, in the middle of the sarovar (water tank) surrounding it. There is a causeway linking the temple middle with the outside of the sarovar, and this causeway is used by the devotees to pray at the shrine (and at the Guru Granth Sahib) located at the center. At night, the reflection of the light gives an overall beautiful presence.

This is another view of the Golden Temple in Amritsar, at night, with lights all over. The reflection of the lights in the sarovar makes the photo look incredible. I did not have a tripod, so kept the camera on the ground, used the strap of the camera under the lens for elevation, and then set the camera with a delay in clicking, and then set the photo for around a 20 second exposure.

The previous set of photos have all shown the Harmandir Sahib and the causeway from one side. In this view, you are able to see the view from the other side of the causeway. It really does not look too different, but the surrounding buildings are different, and hence in this case, you are able to see a well lighted building right behind the Harmandir Sahib.

The Golden Temple is one of the most holy religious places in the world, and the center of the Sikh Religion. The original structure was built around 1574, with construction being enhanced during the times of the 4th and 5th Gurus.
This is a photo taken during the night. I did not use a tripod, but kept the camera at the side of the sarovar, and set a time period of around 15 seconds to take this photo (setting a delay of around 10 seconds first to remove any shake).

There is a lot of pleasure to be had from the thought of a cruise in a houseboat, slowly making its way through the waterway, and then catching the sun rising. This was precisely the scene in this photo, where I was taking a cruise in a houseboat with the spouse (and we were the only guests on the houseboat), and at some point in the night, the boat was tied up. When we got up, there was this view, with the sunrise shimmering over the water in the rural part of Kerala (India).

I really like such photos, they possess a certain beauty that appeals to me. There is a bit more light than in the previous photo, although the beautiful shimmer in the water is already there. You can see the outline of the buildings on the banks, and of the wheel of London Eye.

The sun is just about to set in London over the Thames, and you can see the big orb of the dying sun, and the magical shimmer that has spread over the water. The light is just enough to be able to capture the ships nearby, and the wheel of London Eye.
