There are a few shops inside the Golden Temple complex, that sell items relevant to Sikhs. In one of these shops, I found a large number of these steel bangles (also called kadas) being sold. The sight of these piled up seemed interesting to me, so took a photo.

These are the 2 towers of the Nishaan Sahib (the flagstaffs of the Golden Temple). The flagstaffs are an important part of every Gurdwara, and are established when the structure is established.

As you enter the building, there is a great feeling with the Granthis inside reading from the Holy Book.

This is a slightly wider view of some of the structures inside the Golden Temple complex, with a view of the Darbar Sahib, one of the Minars of the Ramgarhia Bunga (there are a total of 2 Minars in the Monument) and the vast expanse of the waters of the sarovar.

There are shops in the Golden Temple complex, which primarily sell religious related stuff. In this photo, you can see some hangings that reflect the depictions of the Sikh Gurus.

There is a corridor between the outer wall of the Golden Temple complex, and the inner main structure (which has a number of shops over there, as well as the large entrance gate that leads to the inner structure of the Golden Temple. Here, you can see a number of devotees in this corridor.

The location in this photo is the space between the outer gate of the Golden Temple complex, and the huge entrance gate to the inner part of the complex. You can see people in this location, as well as tents put outside to shield people from the heat.

The Darshani Deori as well as the causeway inside the Golden Temple complex. The causeway is full of devotees who want to pay their respects at the Darbar Sahib in the middle of the sarovar. You can also see the front of the Akal Takht.

There are a number of people who volunteer for various work inside the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar, such as for serving food, preparing food, and also for cleaning up. It is admirable to see people doing such stuff, trying to do the hard task of keeping the sarovar (the pond) of the Golden Temple clean.

The sarovar of the Golden Temple complex is teeming with fish (the varieties are not very clear to me though), with both golden colored fish and black-grey colored fish being found very easily (you go near the tank and you will see these fish coming to the surface). In this photo, you can find a large number of fish at the surface of the water.

The Ramgarhia Bunga was built by a Sikh warrior & Ramgarhia misl chief Jassa Singh Ramgarhia in the late 18th century. The building serves as a place for pilgrims, as also to provide a measure of defense to the Darbar Sahib against any invader. The towers are 46 m high, and originally 3 were planned, but only 2 were built.

One of the main entrances to the Holy Golden Temple compound, you can see a steady stream of devotees making their way through the grand gate. And of course, you will always see the presence of the water of the Sarovar, since it occupies a huge chunk of the overall compound.

These are large golden (and black) fish inside the Golden Temple complex, swimming in the sarovar (holy tank). There are a large number of such fish, easily visible, and they come pretty close to the edge of the tank.

This is a view of the devotees standing in queue outside the Darshani Deori in the Golden Temple complex (in Amritsar). There are ordered queues to enter the causeway that leads to the Darbar Sahib, with a tent shielding the devotees from the glare of the sun.

Volunteers cleaning the tank of the Golden Temple in Amritsar

In a previous photo, a volunteer could be seen upto his neck, employed in cleaning the sarovar of the Golden Temple. In this photo, you can see more such volunteers, including with using a net to clean the waters (considered a holy duty, since the sarovar is considered as holy as well).

The Golden Temple really looks incredible, and in this photo, you can see the beautiful golden covered structure in the middle of the Holy sarovar. The rest of the buildings in the complex are all white, making a deep contrast with the Golden color of the Darbar Sahib.

The Darshani Deori is a gateway inside the Golden Temple complex, the entrance to the causeway which in turn leads to the Darbar Sahib in the middle of the sarovar. Here you can see people in a queue to pass through the Darshani Deori, with a tent at the top to prevent the heat from affecting the people in the queue.

The Nishaan Sahib are the twin ceremonial flagstaffs inside the Golden Temple complex, just to the side of the Akal Takht. In this photo, you can see these twin poles, projecting high in the sky, seeming to go on and on high in the sky, with some clouds behind them providing for an interesting lighting.
