When tourists arrive at the Hatshepsut temple, the buses are parked at some distance away. From the parking site to the actual start of the temple, there are these environmentally friendly battery powered bases that carry tourists. In the heat, it could get uncomfortable for tourists (especially the elderly ones) to walk the distance.
