Dearly departed - Symbolic abstract art on Saatchiart 

This flower slowly decaying under pressure of some gravel is symbolic of death and departing. Everybody goes eventually, and hopefully when anybody goes, they are surrounded by loved ones. This is a photograph converted into a painting. There is a kind of finalism associated with symbols around death, a validation of the 'from dust to dust' statement. We all come, and we all have to go, the question is about what kind of mark we leave on this land.
